mindmeister

Mindmeister is a useful tool that could be used in a number of my classes and for my own grad classes. A collaborative way to organize thoughts, concepts and examples could be quite powerful in the classroom. I am using a mimio board so to have this concept up on the whiteboard and have students add to it while we are discussing things would be great. I am in the process of finishing a unit in my ICT class and this would be a great tool to use to introduce the next unit.

  1. Excellent Patty! You might have to choose a different blog layout if you were going to display things like mind maps in blog posts. Good to put your Twitter button close your About Me information.

  2. Looks good Patty! I'm old enough that I can remember showing teachers Inspiration and Kidspiration....so I too think this app is great....and free...can't beat that!

  3. @Glen No need to change the blog layout, you'd only need to change the iframe code supplied by MindMeister to fit the column width of the blog. The default MindMeister embed width is 600 x 400. This template looks to be around w460. So, to make the embedded map fit, you'd only need to alter the width and height part of the code. I.e. 600 x 400 becomes 460 x 307.
